This French listening practice resource features one speaker talking about his summer holidays, his experiences and his plans for the future.
The speaker describes spending part of his summer in Russia with his family, spending time with his brother Daniel, going on excursions with his parents, relaxing after his GCSE exams and thinking about his future, including the possibility of studying in Switzerland.
Students listen to the audio and then work through a variety of activities designed to develop their ability to understand a longer spoken text. The questions progress from general understanding to detailed comprehension and more challenging inference.
The resource also includes a language-spotting activity where students identify different tenses, relative pronouns, quantity expressions and reflexive verbs used in the audio. Finally, students are challenged to retell the story without looking at the script and use a range of French structures themselves.

If you are preparing for GCSE French, this is a great place to start building confidence with longer listening texts. It gives students practice identifying key information, understanding details, making deductions and then using what they have heard in their own spoken French.
The resource can be used independently, as homework, or as part of a lesson with teacher-led audio practice.
This is an independent French learning resource and is not an official GCSE examination paper or affiliated with an exam board.
